Sangameshar temple, Bharani

From Friday, 13 June 2014 at 18:30 pm Planet Jupiter – Guru – Brihaspati Deva will be transiting and leaving the Gemini and Purnavasu nakshatra (ruled by Jupiter) and leaving from the 4th Pada which is influenced by the Moon. Currently, Planet Jupiter – Guru is in Gemini and will then move from Gemini to Cancer, where Jupiter is in exaltation.

On this auspicious occasion Archana, Homam, Abishekam, along with Sankalpam and Pujas will be performed to Lord Shiva at the Sangameswarar Temple in Bhavani, near Erode, Tamil Nadu, and on 17 June to Lord Sri Subramanian in Tiruchendur Temple

Bhavani Sangameshwarar temple is ancient and connected to narrative about Kubera, known for the ardour of his devotion to Lord Shiva. The temple was built at the confluence of three rivers namely, Cauvery, Bhavani and Amirtha rivers. So the place of Bhavani Eswarar is called as Sangameshwarar. In Nayanmar’s songs Bhavani is called Thirunana. The holy temple was praised by Nayanmar Thirunanasampathar and Thiruppugal Arunagirinathar. Hence this place is also known as parikar Thalam.

Lord Shiva and Parasakthi are propitated for this transit of Jupiter is movement into Cancer (Kartaka), the house of the Moon. Gauri Shankar form of Easwara is one of the presiding deities of the Moon. Therefore worship of both Lord Shiva and Parasakthi deemed efficacious (bringing good results), and so Bhavani Sangameshwarar temple is a proper place for these devotions.

The Armour of Brihaspati – Jupiter

(Jupiter – Brihaspati is a great benefic, but it causes a lot of problems when it moves to some of the houses, especially first, third, fourth, sixth, eighth, tenth and twelfth from the moon. It stays in each house for one year. This Kavacha should be read on all Thursdays during that period to get rid of the problems. Persons who have Jupiter in these houses should contact the undersigned below in order to participate in rituals and offerings designed to alleviate and remove such afflictions.)
