Sri Dakshinamurthy

One year has passed, navagraha Guru, Brihaspati, Jupiter has transit of Simha, Leo. This transit has held a spiritual balance and brought much protection, even with conjunction of chhaaya graha (shadow planet) Rahu. Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba has one mahavakya, “Life is a Challenge, meet it!” Such challenges will be present when Jupiter transits to Virgo. Jupiter remains in one house for about one year. From August 2016, Jupiter will transit to Virgo (ruled by Mercury) and remain there for one year.

For spiritual seekers, this transit will have generally poor results except a few signs that will not get the desired results during this transit depending upon your Ascendant (Lagna) or Moon Sign.

Moon sign and Sun Sign for Leo, Scorpio, Taurus, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn and Pisces will find this transit most favourable.

Moon sign and Sun Sign born with Aries, Gemini, Cancer, Libra, Sagittarius and Aquarius will get uynfavourable results of this transit.

If Mercury is strong, Jupiter in Virgo can be very effective in organising information and speaking toward those in bondage, human trafficking and slavery, the ill and addicted, the poor and conflict-ridden, the labouring classes. Jupiter can bring consolation, direct service toward the needy, these needy. While this is not a naturally humorous or jovial sign for Guru as it can give rise to religious arguments and preaching. However, Jupiter does very well here helping to develop compassion via Service – as Virgo is the natural 6th house and the house of selfless service. It was this sign that Lord Krishna was alluding to when speaking about nishkama karma.

Jupiter in Virgo is well inclined toward disciplinary specialties of public health and logically organised resource distribution. In this sign, Kanya (Virgo) Jupiter is tolerant of cultural diversity but achieves harmony goals principally through avoiding conflict.

Jupiter will aspect Capricorn, Pisces and Taurus. Water element in Pisces and Earth element in Capricorn and Taurus.

The Temple

Mahalingeswaraswamy Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to the deity Shiva, located in Tiruvidaimaruthur, a village in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is significant as one of the seven major Shiva temples. Shiva is worshiped as Mahalingeswaraswamy, and is represented by the lingam, with his idol referred to as Jothimayalingam. His consort Parvati is depicted as Pirguchuntaragujambigai. The lingam of the temple is believed to be the focal point for the seven consorts of Shiva. The presiding deity is revered in the 7th century Tamil Saiva canonical work, the Tevaram, written by Tamil saint poets known as the nayanars and classified as Paadal Petra Sthalam.

According to legend, Mahalingaswamy is the centre of all Shiva temples in the region and the Saptha Vigraha moorthis (seven prime consorts in all Siva Temples) are located at seven cardinal points around the temple, located in various parts of the state. The seven deities are Nataraja in Chidambaram Nataraja Temple at Chidambaram, Chandikeswarar in Tirucheingalur Temple at Tirucheingalur, Vinayagar in Vellai Vinayagar Temple at Tiruvalajuli, Muruga in Swamimalai Murugan Temple at Swamimalai, Bhairava in Sattainathar Temple at Sirkali, Navagraha in Sooriyanar Temple at Suryanar Kovil and Dakshinamoorthy in Apatsahayesvarar Temple, Alangudi at Alangudi, Papanasam taluk. The other deities of a Shiva temple associated with Mahalingeswaraswamy are Durga in Thenupuriswarar Temple at Patteswaram, Somaskanda in Thyagaraja Temple, Tiruvarur at Tiruvarur and Nandi at Tiruvavaduthurai Temple at Thiruvaduthurai. The temple is also referred as Pancha Linga stala due to the presence of five lingams, four of which in the cardinal directions and the fifth one at the centre. The temple of Viswanatha lies in the east street, Rishipuriswara in the west, Atmanatha in South street and Chokkanatha in North street.
